Flying Eagles Striker Otusanya Signs with Brazilian Club

Nigeria’s junior international, Oluwasegun Otusanya, has officially joined America Futebol Clube PE in Brazil on a long-term deal.

The Flying Eagles striker has inked a four-year contract, keeping him with the Recife-based club until 2028.

Otusanya’s remarkable goal-scoring record with FK Haugesund’s B team in the Norwegian league last season garnered significant attention from various clubs. Despite the interest, he opted to align his future with the Brazilian side.

The 20-year-old forward, who began his career at Stars Builders Academy, found the back of the net 32 times in 36 matches for FK Haugesund B. He is now set to strengthen America Clube’s attacking lineup.

Eduardo Peixoto, President of America Clube, described Otusanya’s signing as a milestone in the club’s new strategy to scout African talents, made possible through its partnership with Stars Builders Academy.

“We are thrilled that Samuel and Stars Builders Academy embraced our vision. Nigerian football has a rich legacy, from Kanu and Okocha to Finidi and Osimhen. We aim to discover such talents at their roots, and this partnership marks the beginning of more opportunities,” Peixoto stated.

He further praised the professionalism of Stars Builders Academy’s CEO, Ayodeji Adegbenro, in facilitating the transfer and expressed confidence in Otusanya’s success in Brazil.

“We believe Samuel ‘The Machine’ Otusanya will achieve great things here,” Peixoto added.
